In everyday gestures, memory becomes present
Since 1870, five generations of winemakers in Moasca
In the soft, luminous heart of Monferrato Astigiano, where the hills seem like slow waves and the light changes colour with every hour of the day, stands La Muda Farmhouse. This is a place that does more than simply exist: it breathes, it tells stories, it welcomes. Here, the land speaks an ancient language, made of repeated gestures, respected seasons, and stories passed down with discretion. Since 1870, five generations of winemakers have walked these same fields, leaving an imprint that does not weigh, but nourishes.
La Muda was born as a farm and grows as a vision. It is an estate that has never renounced its own past, but has transformed it into a living force, capable of dialoguing with the present. The farmhouses, carefully renovated, preserve the rural soul of times past, while the spaces now open to new forms of hospitality, encounter, and sharing. Every corner carries with it a silent memory, every detail is the result of a conscious choice.
What strikes you from the very first glance are the pastel colours that embrace the estate. The facades, the courtyards, the outdoor furnishings seem painted by the very light of Monferrato. Delicate tones, never loud, that change with the sky and the seasons: they brighten at dawn, soften at sunset, accompanying the gaze without ever tiring it. La Muda is a living, colourful estate, where aesthetics is not ornament, but part of the emotional experience. Here, beauty is not flaunted: it is natural, everyday, necessary.

The Farm Today
Today, La Muda Farmhouse is guided by Andrea Ghignone and Andrea Mattana Renon, who chose to inhabit this place even before managing it. Theirs is a vision made of respect, listening, and care. Together, they have given new voice to an ancient story, transforming the estate into an open, welcoming, profoundly human space. Not simply an agritourism, but a country house where every guest is welcomed with authenticity, without filters or formality.

The Founders

Andrea Ghignone
Mayor of Moasca | President of the Regional Wine House of Canelli and Astesana
Andrea Ghignone was born in Asti in 1973 and lives in Moasca, the town that has always been the centre of his personal life and public commitment. Raised in Monferrato, he developed from a young age a strong sense of belonging to the community and territory. After graduating in Accounting and Commercial Expert, he obtained a degree in Law from the University of Eastern Piedmont. Alongside his academic training, he pursued a long career in Public Administration, working at the Province of Asti and the Piedmont Region, where he gained administrative, managerial and institutional skills. His civic engagement began very early: he joined the Municipal Council when he was just over twenty and in 1999 was elected Mayor of Moasca. Since then, he has led the Municipality for several terms, up to his re-election in 2024. His administrative action is characterised by continuity, constant presence and attention to the daily needs of citizens, in a context marked by the typical challenges of small municipalities. Alongside his role as mayor, he has held positions in the Unions of Municipalities in the Canelli and Monferrato area, promoting collaboration between bodies as a fundamental tool for ensuring shared services and projects. A significant part of his commitment is linked to the wine and cooperative world. In 2025, he was appointed president of the Regional Wine House of Canelli and Astesana, with the aim of promoting wine as an expression of identity, work and culture of the territory. Alongside his administrative activity, he cultivates a constant interest in local history, considered an integral part of the responsibility of those who administer and look to the future of communities.

Andrea Mattana Renon
Agricultural Entrepreneur | Vice President Tiramisù Academy
Andrea Mattana Renon was born in Asti in 1988. He is an agricultural entrepreneur, territorial promoter and local administrator active in the Monferrato Astigiano area. After obtaining a language diploma, he completed his training as a senior technician for catering and the promotion of territorial products, combining linguistic, organisational and food and wine skills. He also gained professional experience in industry and food quality control, developing an approach attentive to the supply chain, sustainability and product identity. He is the founder and manager of an agricultural and rural hospitality project in Monferrato, where he works to enhance the landscape, peasant culture and slow tourism, integrating agriculture, hospitality and cultural events. At the same time, he is vice president of the Tiramisù Academy, an association committed to promoting Italian gastronomy at national and international level, collaborating in the organisation of events and initiatives dedicated to the promotion of territories. Engaged in civic life, he is a municipal councillor in Villanova d'Asti, with a vision oriented towards local development, cooperation between communities and the promotion of the territory as an economic and cultural resource. His work is based on the idea that tradition, innovation and community can coexist, creating lasting value for the territory and the people who live there.
Tiramisù Academy
Andrea Mattana Renon is actively engaged in promoting tiramisù as an expression of Italian gastronomic culture. As vice president of the Tiramisù Academy, the cultural association based in Treviso, he contributes to the development of a project dedicated to promoting one of the best-known and most beloved Italian desserts internationally. The Tiramisù Academy was founded with the aim of studying, telling and spreading the history and identity of tiramisù, promoting Made in Italy through cultural activities, events, meetings and educational initiatives. The Academy aims to be a reference point for enthusiasts, professionals and institutions, fostering an open dialogue between tradition and modernity and strengthening the link between territory, culture and gastronomy. Within this journey, Andrea Mattana Renon supports and participates in the association's international activities, contributing to the growth of initiatives that have given tiramisù global visibility. These include the Tiramisù World Cup, a competition that attracts participants from numerous countries every year and has transformed Treviso into a meeting place for different cultures, stories and interpretations of the same dessert.

The Land
The property extends over approximately twenty hectares, drawing a harmonious and never forced landscape. Six hectares are vineyard, the beating heart of the estate: orderly rows that follow the curves of the hills, where the vine sinks its roots into history and stretches its shoots towards the sky, season after season. Four hectares are hazelnut groves, soft and generous, which in spring light up with tender green and in autumn yield full fruits, like this land that knows how to give without excess. The rest is meadow and arable land, open spaces that let the landscape breathe, fields that change face with the passing months, places of silence where the earth rests and prepares to offer again.
Balance and Respect
This agricultural balance is not only productive, but profoundly ethical. It is a choice of measure, of attention, of listening. Nothing is left to chance, nothing is exploited beyond necessity. Every plot has a meaning, every space contributes to a living mosaic that tells a way of being in the world.

The Kitchen
Inside the farmhouse, Piedmontese cuisine becomes storytelling. The dishes are born from the products of the land, follow the rhythm of the seasons, speak of memory and simplicity. The house wines accompany the gathering, while the interior spaces, luminous and harmonious, reflect the same chromatic delicacy of the outdoor areas. Here, time slows down, inviting you to sit, to listen, to share.
Social Farm
A social farm is an agricultural business that combines rural production with activities having social, educational and inclusive purposes. It is a place where working the land becomes a tool for welcome, integration and well-being, involving vulnerable people, families, schools and communities, fostering relationships, autonomy and dignity through simple and concrete gestures. La Muda Farmhouse is the only social farm in the province of Asti and one of the very few in Piedmont. Here, agriculture merges with social commitment, creating an authentic space where nature, work and people grow together, respecting the rhythms of the land and those who live it.
Educational Farm
An educational farm is an agricultural business that opens its doors to schools, families and groups to introduce them to the rural world up close. It is a place of experiential learning, where children and adults can discover the origin of food, the cycle of the seasons, respect for animals and the environment, through practical activities, workshops and moments of sharing. Muda Farmhouse is one of the many educational farms present throughout Italy: a reality that contributes, along with many others, to spreading a conscious, educational and sustainable agricultural culture, directly connecting people with the land and its most authentic values.
A Story That Continues
La Muda Farmhouse is not just a place to visit, but a place to feel. It is a land that welcomes without asking, that tells stories without explaining, that stays in the heart without being noticed. Among vines, pastel colours, silences, and laden tables, a story made of deep roots and open gazes towards the future continues to live. A story that, still today, grows slowly, like the vine: with patience, with respect, with love.
